I am from a long family line of teachers and lecturers. For a while it looked as if I would break with family tradition, going for various marketing roles, until I took on the MCT Community Lead role at Microsoft Learning. In this role I enable Microsoft Certified Trainers by further developing the MCT program and by providing information, opportunities and program benefits.
Before joining Microsoft 7 years ago, I worked in the publishing industry, electronic gaming and at an International Child Aid Fundraiser. I am passionate about the MCT Community and enjoy seeing an international network of trainers sharing ideas, tips, tricks and opinions; on a worldwide scale, every day of the week!
The best reward for me is ‘the light bulb moment’, this is where the MCT explains how to perform specific tasks and the students suddenly see the potential. It is magic because you realize that this is the moment that people become more efficient, more productive, more powerful at what they do. With the scale of the MCT Community, that magic light bulb moment occurs thousands times a week!
I’m from The Netherlands, last year my family and I relocated to Redmond. When not at work, I enjoy ‘discovering’ America and seeing our children learn English at incredible speed. Soon they’ll correct my grammar when they read my blog posts :-)
